BEIRUT. The AntiGlobalization Movement of Russia have signed protocol of cooperation with Lebanon Democratic Youth Forum
After bilateral consultations in Moscow, held April 16 between AGM and LDYF, parties have agreed to develop and sign the protocol of cooperation. Document serves to strengthen the relationships in fields of culture, social, ecological and political programs between organizations.
Middle East today is under attack from international terrorism and Western countries, whom graciously supply weapons to guerrillas in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Over 250 00 lives were lost during the military conflict in the region. A coalition headed by Saudi Arabia and United States wages war to reinstate denounced Yemeni president, instead of conducting counter-terrorist operation against ISIS. The people of Lebanon have felt the terrorist threat in full, when large groups of ISIS guerrillas have attacked the city of Tripoli, in North of Lebanon. Many people died, but the fighters from Hizbollah, Al-Marada and Lebanese police forces were able to withstand ISIS attack and retrieve control over the city.
It is important to develop Russian-Lebanon relationship in the period of great political and military instability of the region. Regular Lebanese are expecting Russia to protect them, and to become their partner in various activities. Work to protect rights of religious minorities in Lebanon and Syria is one of the most important issues. We know that both Christians and Muslims undergo terrible persecution on territories occupied by ISIS. Catholics, Protestants and Maronites are being kidnapped and executed publicly, which is unacceptable for 21th century.
Religious questions will be discussed with our colleges from Lebanon during Christian Forum in Sochi, which will be held in the beginning of June 2015. As of now, bilateral work group is working on humanitarian and social support of Christians in Middle East.
Russia always came to Middle East as a peacekeeper. And now, millions living in Arab Maghreb, are waiting for justice and honor to come.
